The Department of audiology and speech language pathology provides early identification, evaluation and rehabilitation of speech, language, communication, hearing and feeding difficulties for pediatrics, adults and geriatrics. The department works on a patient oriented multidisciplinary approach to augment the patient’s quality of life.

An expert audiologist and speech-language pathologist with a proven track record and substantial years of experience in planning and administering speech language pathology measures, improvements and evaluations; has the ability to implement appropriate treatments; excellent project management skills with a proven capacity in utilizing support staff; has the willingness and initiative to participate in special projects, as designated.

Ms. Padmapriya has more than 10 years of professional experience in the field of Audiology and Speech Language Pathology. Her area of interest is childhood language disorders and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). She has organized and coordinated various workshops and camps. She conducted many training programs for both parents and professionals. A well established and fully fledged speech and audio lab was constructed in NIPMR from a very small setup was under her guidance and supervision. As a member of multidisciplinary rehabilitation her contribution is well appreciated.

Sinitha K.M

Audiologist and Speech Language Pathologist

An Audiologist & Speech Pathologist with 7 years of experience in the field of Audiology and Speech Language Pathology. Her services include screening, assessment and management of speech, language, feeding and hearing disorders in all age groups. She joined NIPMR in 2014 and done contributions in the setting up of full-fledged Audiology and Speech Language Pathology department in NIPMR. She is expert in the evaluation and intervention of speech and language disorders especially in children and also efficient in performing all the diagnostic Audiological Evaluation procedures and providing aural rehabilitation for both pediatrics and adults. Has experience in participating various outreach programs and good at providing trainings and awareness classes for both parents and professionals. Capable of working in a multidisciplinary set up and she is the member of the multidisciplinary team which handles the group sessions of children with learning disability and intellectual disability in NIPMR. She is the coordinator of the internship programs of external BASLP students from various colleges across south India in NIPMR. Mekha Raj is an enthusiastic Speech Language pathologist and audiologist who has been working since 2014, with more than 7 years of experience. She is well experienced and dedicated and has achieved superior patient outcomes while participating as a member of a multidisciplinary case management team. Results driven in the areas of providing early identification, management /rehabilitation of Speech Language and Communication Disorders for all population. Pediatric Dysphagia management and AAC researches have been her areas of interest. She currently holds the same position in the project of Regional Autism Rehabilitation and Research Centre (RARRC) under Kerala Social Service Mission at NIPMR.
